Fast Facts

New to St. Anthony Catholic School?

While there is a plethora of information about our school, we have put together an outline of Fast Facts to acquaint you with our school, history and mission.

•St. Anthony Catholic School was founded by the Sisters of Divine Providence in 1907 and has been providing a premier education to students in the San Antonio community for over 100 years.

•St. Anthony became part of the Brainpower Connection of the University of the Incarnate Word in 1988, collectively joined with other institutions dedicated to excellence in education within a faith-based environment.

•Our school has grown to encompass a student body of over 400 with an eye on continuing to expand our school, while still keeping small class sizes a priority.

•St. Anthony follows the Archdiocese of San Antonio's vision for Archdiocesan schools, to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in our daily interactions with our students. However, we welcome students from any faith to join our school.

•St. Anthony is a PK3 through 8th grade institution, starting with our Katherine Ryan Program for ages 3 – 5, elementary school for grades 1 – 5, and middle school for grades 6 – 8.

•The St. Anthony curriculum uses the guidelines of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the Texas standards as the foundation from which to build its program of instruction. It  is centered around a fundamental course of learning, including mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, and religion, with special focus on Spanish, the arts and technology. We offer a wide variety of elective and enrichment classes to provide a well-rounded education for our students.

•Our philosophy is to engage directly with our students while encouraging parental participation in the education of their children. Our school is community and family-centered, offering a unique learning environment for our students.

•St. Anthony Catholic School is funded through tuition fees and the generous donations from our sponsors. We rely on fundraising and donations to support our continued growth and dedication to our students’ education.

•In addition to our preschool, elementary and middle school curriculum, we offer many extracurricular activities, including sports, debate, drama, science club and many other activities. We also offer Extended Care for after school.
