Art Appreciation and Expression
Art plays an important role in child development, from helping children learn to express their thoughts visually to enhancing decision making and motor skills. At St. Anthony, we recognize that art is an essential element in nurturing well-rounded students that are learning to express themselves in different ways. Art is incorporated into our classes, from fundamental fun projects in K3-K5 to a dedicated art program in 1st thru 8th grades.
Art comes in many forms and is even more critical in today’s digital world. At SACS, we nurture our students’ visual appreciation of different forms of art through a hands-on approach. Our art program uses many different techniques for our students to explore different art expressions, giving them a well-rounded view, while enhancing their mental perspective.
Our middle school students have art electives available, giving them a more in-depth exploration of different forms of art expression. Art history, painting, printmaking, drawing, color theory and patterns are explored. Our 7th and 8th graders can choose to delve into 2-D and 3-D art, helping them nurture their creativity.
